Ann M. Martin was born on August 12th and grew up in Princeton, New Jersey. She graduated from Smith College and worked as a teacher and an editor of children's books. She is the writer of the famous Babysitter's Club series of books. Her series for middle grade readers, California Diaries, following the lives of Dawn, of The Babysitter's Club, after moving to California, and her new friends. Ann Martin lives in upstate New York with her two cats and enjoys reading, sewing, and needlework.
