John Neufeld was born in Chicago on December 14th and grew up in the Midwest. He wanted to be a writer from the age of ten because he thought he could "be his own boss." He was educated at Yale and worked for several publishing companies in New York from 1962-1996. He also taught English in an LA private school. Edgar Allan was his first book, and, as soon as it was accepted for publication, he began Lisa Bright and Dark, the story of a young girl descending into the darkness of mental illness. Neufeld lives and writes in New York.
