I was born, raised, schooled, and I've raised my family, all in Mankato, Minnesota. It's safe to say I'm a person who loves routine!

I have over 50 non-fiction books published by Capstone Press and Picture Window Books. Over the years, I've had work appear in FACES, Lollipops, and Guideposts.

Theresa Longenecker and Sarah Heiman are two pen names I also use in my writing.

My dream is someday to be the author of a picture book and a piece of fiction. I receive much-needed advice from my own four children when I speak at Young Writer's Conferences and schools. Children have a way of keeping a person humble!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, grandchildren, taking in my son's ball games, reading, and walking.
