Ruth Sanderson, author and illustrator, is a graduate of the Paier College of Art. Among her many books for children are The Twelve Dancing Princesses, Goldilocks, The Enchanted Wood, The Night Before Christmas, Cinderella, and Saints: Lives and Illuminations. She has collaborated with author Jane Yolen on three titles, the latest being Hush Little Horsie. Her books have received a number of awards, including the Texas Bluebonnet Award for The Golden Mare, The Firebird, and The Magic Ring. Her original oil paintings have been included in many museum exhibitions. She teaches in a summer graduate-level Certificate in Children’s Book Illustration program at Hollins University in Virginia, and she is a guest speaker at many conferences and schools.
