Brian Wildsmith Stonehenge
Let's Investigate: Apples Taj Mahal

Happy Birthday to Shawndra Shofner, born January 22nd! She grew up in Ericsburg, Minnesota, just 10 miles south of the Canadian border. Although she received her BA from Metropolitan University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she and her husband currently live with their three children in the Nation's Icebox, International Falls, less than two miles south of Canada.

Shawndra's first book for children was Let's Investigate: Apples, a nonfiction title for early readers. Shawndra wrote six new books that were published in 2005! They range from information about Stonehenge and the Taj Mahal to How It Happens at the Pizza Company and How It Happens at the Paper Mill. There's a big paper mill in International Falls, so we imagine she was able to do firsthand research!
