Pomegranate Seeds Three Hat Day
Sign of the Qin Myth Men: Hercules

Celebrating her birthday on February 23rd Laura Geringer's name is synonymous with bestsellers such as If You Take A Mouse to School and If you Give a Pig A Pancake because of her editorial imprint at HarperCollins. But she is also an author in her own right with titles like A Three Hat Day (1987) and The Myth Men Series including Hercules: a Strong Man and Ulysses: The Solider King.

Under her married name, L.G. Bass, Laura has recently published The Sign of the Qin, the first in the Outlaws of Moonshadow Marsh trilogy. Set in medieval China, this series combines kung-fu action with adventure and fantasy on the grand scale of The Lord of the Rings. Look for the first book in paperback in the fall of 2006.

Ms. Geringer feels it is "essential to connect children with things that are already familiar to them." She often reminds us that "we are the ones who keep the stories alive and we need to continue to share them, passing them back and forth from one to another."
