Who designed the Animal Crackers box? Why, Frank Remkiewicz did.
This children’s book illustrator, born on April 14th, started drawing before he started school and says, “I was the kind of kid who was always reading or drawing.” His heroes were Bill Peet, Robert Lawson, and Kurt Weiss. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design and then went to work on Madison Avenue in New York City for Norcross Greeting Cards.
A graphic artist for many years, he has now illustrated more than 60 children’s books, including the Froggy series written by Jonathan London and the Horrible Harry series by Suzy Kline. Mr. Remkiewicz lives in Sarasota, Florida.
