Barbara Robinson celebrates her birthday on October 24th. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and began writing in the fourth of fifth grade as a hobby and for fun. She received a BA in theatre from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania and worked as a librarian before beginning her writing career. She writes her stories as a reader, anxious to see what will be on the next page. "Sometimes the characters step in and show me what happens next." Her most famous and popular title is the hilarious Best Christmas Pageant Ever. In 2004, a sequel was published which has already garnered terrific reviews: The Best Halloween Ever, starring the irrepressible Herdman family once again.
