A Busy Day

2011 Books for Breakfast

Sharing a photo from last year's breakfast

We’ve been getting ready for weeks and finally the CLN Books for Breakfast is tomorrow. Steve and I are still printing handouts, stuffing folders, creating the Powerpoint, and it’s only three hours until we need to walk out the door. It’s unbelievable to me how many people’s efforts go into this three-hour event. We host 25 authors, one Game Master (David LaRochelle) who has come up with a sterling game again this year, five CLN 5×5 Booktalkers, and 250 wonderfully interested teachers, librarians, and booksellers. The love of books and reading in that room is palpable … and, finally, all of the hard work is worth it. What really makes everything work is the 25 volunteers who have put in time preceding the event and will work at the event tomorrow. Couldn’t do it without you, everyone. Crossing our fingers that all goes well tomorrow.

  1. This is always one of my favorite mornings of the year! I’m looking forward to tomorrow and hearing about new books, seeing old friends, and testing folks’ literary knowledge with this year’s game!

Thank you Vicki and Steve for making this event a reality!

    David, the Game Master
