Authors and illustrators with books featured on Children's Literature Network created books that have been published by traditional publishing houses or reviewed in traditional review sources (School Library Journal, The Horn Book, Book Links, Kirkus Reviews, Publishers Weekly).

CLN will not promote self-published books on its website.

One aspect of CLN's mission is to be a trusted source for book information and recommendations. Self-published books are too variable in nature and so prolific in number that CLN does not have the resources to review all those submitted to us.

Self-published authors are welcome to become CLN members, learning from other members of the community.
